An anonymous plea for help posted on Craigslist came to the attention of a group of rescuers and within a few short hours, little Bridget was saved and on her way to emergency treatment.
The burns covered her little face. Her eyes, eye lids, muzzle, nose and mouth were raw, red and burning. Her eyes were swollen and weeping pus. She couldn't open her mouth. The inside of her mouth, tongue, throat and esophagus were red and inflamed from ingestion of the bleach. She had a piece of metal in her stomach. Her tiny body was nothing but bones; her ribs, hips and spine were clearly visible.
Her pain and desperation for warmth, relief and love is hard to imagine. It's hard to stomach such cruelty.
I invite you to share Bridget's journey back to health in pictures.
